Oktoberfest Cancelled for 2020

But we’re exploring ways for our A2K community to continue our good work!

Dear IRB Action 2000 Members and Supporters, After careful consultation with the IRB City and local health officials regarding the safety and well-being of everyone in our community – our fans, our vendors and exhibitors, our longtime sponsors, and our volunteers – we have made the difficult decision to cancel Oktoberfest on the Beach, scheduled for October 17, 2020 at Kolb Park, Indian Rocks Beach. This is the first time in 19 years that Oktoberfest has been cancelled! We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and the small businesses that rely on this festival. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today. The long-term impact of the pandemic on our future plans is a real cause for concern. Various projects will face difficulty getting off the ground because of the loss of funding from Oktoberfest. A2K sponsored two major initiatives in 2019 - the Kolb Park Gazebo Project and the Visioning and Retail Studies – and these major expenditures along with ever increasing ongoing maintenance and general operating means we need to look for ways to fundraise. We’re exploring other ways for our community to get together including smaller experiences and online events to showcase our vendors and sponsors and continue our fundraising efforts. Updates will be communicated at our monthly meetings and email. In the meantime, we believe that with your help, we can continue to send a positive message about Action 2000 and continue our efforts to enhance IRB’s sense of place and pride. That’s why we’re asking you to renew your support through a one-time annual donation or our new monthly option. We thank those dedicated volunteers that continue to work – weeding, mulching, painting - and want you to know how much we appreciate your efforts. We look forward to some new and creative events and making Oktoberfest 2021 a reimagined celebration that brings our community together once again. John Ashby President, IRB Action 2000, Inc. I Want To Suport A2K
